The holiday season kicks off in style when local celebrities gather to ring the iconic bells of The Salvation Army red kettles in Downtown Seattle on Tuesday, December 9, from noon to 1pm.

This year marks the 40th annual Celebrity Bell Ringing event, a tradition founded by Advisory Board member Herb Mead, and continued to this day by his son, Clint. Since 1974, Celebrity Bell Ringing has raised millions of dollars for families in need.

The festivities will be led by Clint, joined by Salvation Army Divisional Commander, Major Douglas Tollerud, at the corner of 5th Avenue and Pine Street, in front of the festive Nordstrom windows.

Hailed as one of the most fun events in the area, it is a chance to see the famous, and an opportunity to help those in need by donating to a kettle. As always, the "Celebrities" at this event range from members of local media, sports teams, and coaches, to some of the leading philanthropic members of our community. The money raised helps The Salvation Army continue its promise of "Doing the Most Good," especially during the holiday season, when the need is great. Our goal this year is $125,000!

Check back to the page soon, when we will announce the celebrities scheduled to participate in Celebrity Bell Ringing this year.
