There is still space available for The Salvation Army golf tournament in Spokane, WA. The annual event will be held on June 19 at the Spokane Country Club (2010 West Waikiki Road).

This year marks the 28th annual golf tournament, titled “Children Are Our Future.” The event is expected to raise more than $63,000 to help fund The Salvation Army programs Sally’s House, Clothe-A-Child, and Camp Gifford.

The golf tournament will begin with a BBQ luncheon, followed by an 18-hole scramble with prize holes. The evening portion of the event will begin with an awards ceremony, followed by dinner and a silent/live auction. Registration begins at 10:30am, with a 12:30pm shot gun start. The dinner and auction begin at 6:00pm.

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of Spokane has produced the event for 28 years. The event is sponsored by Truckers Fore Kids!, a group of local and regional trucking and transport companies with a goal of “keeping kids on the road to success!”

“The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary along with Salvation Army staff put on the event, working tirelessly throughout the year on what has been deemed one of Spokane’s premier golf tournaments and auctions,” commented Dennis Williams, President of Trans-Systems, Inc.

Reservations are still available for the golf tournament and dinner. For more information, contact Dan Curley at 509-329-2721 or Dan.Curley@usw.SalvationArmy.org. The golf and dinner package is $220 per person; admission to the dinner and auction only is $100 per person. Discounted rates are available for foursomes and large groups.

Sally’s House is The Salvation Army emergency foster care program in Spokane. It provides round-the-clock accessibility for traumatized children in a secure, nurturing environment. Sally’s House accommodates 18 children (ages 2-12) for up to 90 days or until the best home can be found. Children are brought to Sally’s House by Child Protective Services or local law enforcement.

The Salvation Army Camp Gifford is located on Deer Lake and hosts summer camp for children ages 7-17. Kids can escape the urban environment for a week and enjoy character and team building activities in a wilderness setting. Affordable rates and scholarships make it accessible to low income children who might not otherwise be able to attend camp.
