The Salvation Army Northwest Division announces the appointment of Majors Ronald and Ronalee Fenrich, to the Seattle Temple Corps in North Seattle. Prior to this appointment, the Majors managed the Clark County Corps in Vancouver, WA. In North Seattle, they replace Majors David and Linda Harmon, who were appointed to The Salvation Army Western Territorial office in Long Beach, CA.

The news of their appointment didn't surprise the Majors Fenrich. As Salvation Army Officers, the Majors expect to be reassigned throughout their careers. The commitment of being an Officer includes moving your family frequently, and accepting reassignments based on career development and filling the needs of The Salvation Army locations. The assignment in North Seattle is an acknowledgement of their ability to manage a large community center and congregation.

The Seattle Temple Corps is among the largest Corps in The Salvation Army Northwest Division. It serves more than 500 families per month. Among the variety of programs and services offered to the community in North Seattle are daycare for infants and toddlers, rent/utility assistance, after-school tutoring and music lessons for kids and teens, summer camp, and holiday assistance.

The Seattle Temple Corps serves several North Seattle neighborhoods, bordered on the south by the ship canal bridge, Puget Sound on the west, and Lake Washington to the east. The area includes Seattle neighborhoods of Greenwood, Phinney Ridge, Green Lake, Northgate, Ballard, Fremont, University District, Wallingford - and it's north-most area of service is Kenmore.

Originally from Sacramento, CA, Major Ronald Fenrich received an Associate of Arts degree in Ministry from The Salvation Army College for Officer Training in Crestmont, CA, in 1995. Before attending college, he worked with his grandfather and father in the family saw-sharpening business. In the meantime, he also worked as a Youth Pastor at The Salvation Army in Sacramento. It was that counseling and ministry work that led him to consider becoming an Officer with The Salvation Army.

Major Ronalee Fenrich was born in Portland, OR, and grew up in Northern CA. Prior to receiving an Associate of Arts degree in Ministry from Crestmont College in 1995, she studied early childhood and elementary education at Seattle Pacific University.

The Majors Fenrich have been Salvation Army Officers for 17 years. Prior to their appointment in Vancouver, WA, they also served in Anaheim, CA, and Denver, CO.

In his spare time, Major Ronald enjoys working with computers and technology, as well as sports, music, and theatre. He plays percussion in The Salvation Army brass band. Major Ronalee enjoys reading (murder mysteries and historical novels) and cheering for several American Leagues Baseball teams. The Majors have been married for 20 years and have two children - Johnathan (age 17) and David (age 14) attend Shorewood High School.
