The Salvation Army Renton Corps presents a performance by comedian Taylor Mason on Sunday, October 27, at 6pm, at the IKEA Performing Arts Center. Money raised at the event will benefit The Salvation Army Renton programs and services. Tickets are on sale now, $20 to $30 each.

Taylor Mason is a comedian, entertainer, ventriloquist, musician, and actor. He’s known for his quick wit, flawless delivery, and polished material –and respected for keeping his humor and content appropriate for all ages and audiences. His career began many years ago when he won television’s original talent show “Star Search.”Since then, he’s performed in a variety of shows, from corporate presentations to commercials to Carnegie Hall, from Second City to churches to Disney cruises. 

The event will help fund the work of The Salvation Army Renton Corps in the community. In September 2013, more than 3,427 residents depended on The Salvation Army Renton Food Bank for food and cooking ingredients for their families.

Plus, The Salvation Army Renton Corps provides a free Community Supper every weeknight. Each night, a home-cooked dinner is served at to the homeless, senior citizens, and people living on the edge. In September 2013, more than 3,398 free dinners were served. 

As kids return to school, they are also returning to the Renton after-school programs. The Salvation Army provides free homework tutoring and music lessons to kids after school. For working families, the structured, safe environment of The Salvation Army after-school programs is a valuable benefit. Nearly 305 kids are participating in the tutoring and music programs.
