A heartfelt “thanks” to Tempur Sealy mattress company for its recent donation of new mattresses to The Salvation Army homeless shelter in Olympia, WA.

The shelter, which can accommodate up to 58 men and women every night, had been using mattresses that were several years old. Tempur Sealy donated 35 new twin-size mattresses.

“When we received notice that The Salvation Army shelter desperately needed to replace mattresses that have been in service for several years, we welcomed the opportunity to provide support,” explained Rob Cash of Tempur Sealy. “We are committed to helping our community, particularly in times of need.” The company has a factory in nearby Lacey, WA.

“Being able to sleep safely indoors is the main priority of the people we serve at the shelter,” said Major Bill Lum, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army in Olympia. “Our shelter residents never complained about the old mattresses. But, they certainly notice the difference and appreciate being treated with dignity.”
