The Salvation Army Benefits from Auction of Two Tickets to Super Bowl
Thanks to a generous donor, two of the hottest tickets in the country are now available for bidding – and the winning bid will go a long way to helping others in need.
The Salvation Army will benefit from an auction of two Super Bowl tickets, donated by a generous Seahawks season ticket holder. The Seattle Seahawks will meet the Denver Broncos in the championship game on Sunday, February 2, in New Jersey. The Salvation Army will conduct the auction via eBay.
The tickets were donated anonymously, by a season ticket holder who received the tickets through the Seahawks lottery. The seats are located next to each other, in Section 329, Row 25, in MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The game begins at 6:30pm EST on Sunday, February 2.
The face value of the tickets is $800 each. The high bid will be donated to The Salvation Army, and will be used for its work throughout the Northwest Division (Washington, Northern Idaho, and Western Montana).
The Salvation Army has been providing basic needs – food, shelter, and clothing – to the less fortunate members of society for more than 125 years in this region.
Additionally, The Salvation Army helps build mind, body, and spirit with a variety of programs offered throughout the region – after-school tutoring, athletic leagues, and music lessons for kids and teens; health and social programs for senior citizens; safe refuge for victims of domestic violence; housing and career assistance for veterans; drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation; and relief and restoration for victims of disaster. All services are provided by The Salvation Army without discrimination.
“In my 30+ years as a Salvation Army Officer, this is the first time I’ve received Super Bowl tickets as a donation,” said Major Doug Tollerud, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army in the Northwest. “We are grateful to the donor for this creative donation and fun opportunity to raise money in a different way.”
Auction begins on Wednesday, January 22, at 5:00pm PST, and closes on Monday, January 27, at 5:00pm PST.
