The Salvation Army in Lewiston, ID, is pleased to partner with AARP to host free tax prep for the community. From now through April 15, advisors are on hand from 9am to noon (Monday through Thursday) at The Salvation Army, 1220 21st Street.

There is no charge for the tax prep service, and any resident of the Lewis-Clark Valley is eligible for assistance. Please note that we cannot help with farm taxes or depreciations, and taxes for small businesses will be limited to those with expenses less than $10,000 annually.

Reservations are not accepted; clients are helped on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive early for best service, and bring the following materials:

  • W-2s or other statements for you and your spouse from ALL your employers
  • Photo ID (and your spouse’s photo ID if filing jointly)
  • Social Security card or ITIN number and birthdates for everyone on your return
  • Any other supporting documentsv

“This is a wonderful benefit for the community,” said Captain Ralph Guthrie. “Filing taxes can be confusing for many people, but this program will ensure that taxes are filed on time and correctly.”
