Salvation Army Lieutenants Josh and Ryan Boyd worked late into the night on Thursday, May 23, and into the morning on Friday, May 24, at the scene of the Skagit Valley Bridge collapse. As Officers at the nearby Anacortes Corps, they quickly responded to the need in their community. They arrived ready to assist as needed, and knew that other responders would appreciate a cup of hot coffee!
Thankfully, no one was critically hurt in the collapse. But its impact on the community is significant - residents and nearby businesses that depend on north-south access will be impacted for several months. Lts. Boyd will continue to monitor relief and restoration efforts, offering support from The Salvation Army to the community.
