The Salvation Army kicks off the summer with an evening of music at its Seattle Temple Corps on Sunday, June 5, at 6pm. The iconic Seattle Temple Brass Band will perform, as well as the Seattle Civic Band. Featured Soloist Christian Riesebieter will play the euphonium, and renowned choral groups Greenwood Chorus and Temple Songsters will perform.

Admission to the concert is by donation, with proceeds supporting The Salvation Army School of Music, an after-school homework tutoring and music instruction program for underprivileged children and teens in King County. The Seattle Temple Corps is located at 9501 Greenwood Avenue.

The highly regarded Salvation Army brass band is led by Conductor Stefan Wennstig. Brass bands are a long-time tradition in The Salvation Army; this band performs weekly in Seattle, and travels regularly throughout the country.

Christian Riesebieter is the featured soloist, and will perform with The Salvation Army Brass Band for the concert. A classically trained musician, he received a BM in Euphonium Performance from the Boston Conservatory 2009. He has performed extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Two Salvation Army choral groups will take the stage during the concert - The Temple Songsters (adults) and The Greenwood Chorus (kids and teens).

The Seattle Civic Band is led by Conductor Jo-Ann Christen. Founded in 1989, the band is an all-volunteer, all-inclusive, intergenerational, non-profit community band composed of wind and brass instrumentalists and percussionists.
