Construction is underway at The Salvation Army in Missoula, MT. The new building is beginning to take shape on South Russell Street – the foundation is finished and framing has begun on the North and South wings. Trusses and roof materials are on site and ready to be put into place.

“We are currently on schedule and 100% completion is scheduled for the beginning of September.” said Joshua Hamilton, who is the co-executive director of the Salvation Army in Missoula along with his wife, Loreen.“

The new building is adjacent to The Salvation Army’s Silvercrest apartments, an affordable senior living facility, built in 2008.

The new building will include space for worship, education, recreation, and social services. The cost of Phase One of the building is $2.5 million, which has been paid by the sale of The Salvation Army’s current location on West Broadway Street. Phase Two will include a gymnasium, more classrooms and meeting spaces. A separate fundraising campaign for its cost – an additional $2 million – will begin at a later date.
